12 including children, women injured in Lyari attack


KARACHI: Twelve people including children and women were injured when two unidentified motorcyclists hurled a grenade near Bhimpura locality of troubled Lyari area of Karachi, on Tuesday.

Later the injured were identified as Wishal, 3; Linash, 4; Kapeel, 8; Arish, 12; Meera, 8; and three women, Dair Bai, 50; Weeni, 24; Aam Wadi Bai, 30; and four men, Arjin 50, Mihwar, 35; Ashook, 20, and Suraish, 41. They all belonged to Hindu community.

Rescue teams rushed there and shifted the injured to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK).

However, security arrangements were tightened as law enforcement agencies personnel cordoned off the whole area and started house to house search.
