Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali has said that 150 RO plants have been installed in five talukas of Tharparkar district have been completed, while a big RO plant with capacity to produce 2 million gallon water daily would be opened by co-chairman of PPP and former President Asif Ali Zardari at Mithi on Saturday.
Presiding over a high level meeting at the CM House here on Thursday, he said that under Rs5 billion schemes, 750 RO plants were being installed in Thar. Out of 750 RO plants 150 have been completed and ready to open, adding 38 of these RO plants are in Mithi, 35 in Islamkot, 19 in Chhachro, 16 in Dahli, 32 in Nagarparkar.
He said Asif Ali Zardari would also perform stone lying ceremony of 30 milk chillers to be installed in Tharparkar district. These chillers would be installed under livestock component of Sindh Agriculture Growth Project of $26.3 million.
