Administrator reviews arrangements for Muharram

KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Sajjad Hussain Abbasi on Monday said the staff of essential services departments would work round the clock during Muharram-ul-Haram.

“The officers and subordinate staff should therefore be deputed in these departments on shift basis so that continuous working could be ensured especially in the sanitation and sewage section so that the citizens could be saved from any inconvenience,” he said while addressing a meeting with the management of Imam Barghas and the organizers of Muharram processions while reviewing the arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram in Imam Bargah Shah-e-Khurasan, Rizvia and other areas.

Administrator Karachi paid a detailed visit to the city and gave directives to concerned officials for immediate redressal of complaints regarding road carpeting, maintenance of street light system, sanitation and sewage related works.

On this occasion he said KMC was already carrying out road carpeting work and this would complete soon.

He said the sanitation and sewage problems should be solved on daily basis.

Taking strict notice of sewage related problems at Nishter Park and other areas of Banoria Town he directed concerned officials to pay special attention on their solution.
