Advocate General Balochistan resigns from Office
QUETTA: Advocate General Balochistan Amanullah Kanrani has announced to resign from his office to participate in elections of Supreme Court Bar Association as its President.
He made this announcement at a Press conference here Wednesday.
He said he was appointed Advocate General in September 2016 by then Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri Government. He said since then he discharged his duty with the confidence f Government and lawyers community. During this period there were major issues. Biggest of them was August 8, 2016 incident in which 60 lawyers were martyred and 80 were injured. It was a major incident. After this incident being Advocate General he did whatever was possible for contacts with relatives of martyred and injured lawyers and. Three member bench of Supreme Court headed by senior judge Asif Saeed Khosa Appreciating his services he directed lawyers to establish contact with him (Kanrani). He said announcement for martyred lawyers relatives and injured lawyers were implemented while some are in the process of implementation.
Amanullah Kanrani said matter of 3197 acres of land in Gwadar was also emerged on which some people had claim of ownership. That case was won and land was handed over to the Government.
He said Balochistan gets presidentship of Supreme Court Bar Association after every five years. In 2013 our province got this office and he was Advocate General at that time also. He resigned from the office and participated in the elections but could not secure success. Now Balochistan would get Presidentship of Supreme Court Bar Association in October 2018. He has resigned from the office of Advocate General and would participate in the election of President. He has sent his resignation to Balochistan governor and had meeting with him. Hopefully his resignation would be accepted.
Answering a question Amanullah Kanrani said he has to contact lawyers of all over the country and he needs maximum time for it and therefore he has resigned from the office. Answering another question he said lawyers community had fully supported him in previous elections but due to non availability of votes in Islamabad he could not be successful. This time he hoped of seeking cooperation of all friends.
