KARACHI: Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo on Friday paid surprise visits to Defence and Frere police stations.
During his visit to Defence police station, he met complainants and police staff. He asked complainants whether they were getting a satisfactory response from PS staff or not. On a complaint about a vehicle theft, he immediately ordered a swift action from police with the cooperation of ACLC.
AIGP asked PS staff and other juniors to resolve public complaints including vehicular thefts.
He stated that the station was built with the help of DHA and was best at the time of hand over to police; however, the present poor state was just due to the negligence of Station House Officers.
He issued a strict warning and also wrote in the station register about his impression.
Later, Thebo moved to Frere police station. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Frere Shehla Qureshi met him and assured that all of his instructions would be complied with. Thebo advised the ASP to try and convert PS under her immediate command into role model police stations.
