ASI killed, two injured in armed attacks

THATTA: An Assistant Sub-Inspector was gunned down and two youth were injured by armed men in different parts of the city on Monday.

According to rescue sources, ASI, identified as Naveed Aslam, aged around 45, was shot dead by unknown armed men near KFC Restaurant in Boat Basin area. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JMPC) for medico-legal formalities. Police said that they had launched a probe into the attack.

Separately, a 22-year-old, Roman Saeed, son of Jamal Saeed, a resident of Baloch colony, suffered injuries in unknown armed men’s firing near Islamia colony within the limit of Qasba colony. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

Similarly, Zubair, 25, son of Abdul Samad, was shot and injured in a firing incident along Usman Barohi Road in Lyari area. The injured was brought to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment.
