KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday granted the interim pre-arrest bail to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Abdur Rauf Siddiqui for listening and arranging hate speeches of his party leader Altaf Hussain.
Former provincial minister, Siddiqui filed bail pleas in ATC through his counsel in 16 cases registered against him at Karachi’s several Police Stations.
Siddiqui’s counsel presented his request of bail before the court.
According to them Siddiqui did not facilitate MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s speech against military. After hearing the arguments, ATC judge granted the bail to Rauf Siddiqui till 15th August.
Over 100 cases have been registered against MQM chief Altaf Hussain under the clauses of the Pakistan Penal Code and Sections 6 and 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997 for making remarks against the military establishment and other national security agencies in his hate speeches.
