ATC issues non-bailable warrant for IO arrest


KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) for the arrest of an investigating officer (IO) Inspector Hussain Mehidi over his absence in murder case.

IO Hussain Mehdi was directed to appear before the court but he did not appear in murder case of Noor Hasan. ATC issued a non-bailable warrant for the arrest of the investigating officer and asked police high-ups to arrest him and produce in the next hearing.

According to prosecution, accused Muzafar Ali allegedly killed Noor Hasan on 9th April 2013 within the limits of Gulbahar police sation. The case FIR was registered at Gulbahar police station under Section 302 (premeditated murder), 109(abetment) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
