Bakra Piri road of Malir goes pot-holed
Karachi: Bakra Piri Road, an important artery connecting Shara-e-Faisal to Memon Goth and dozens of other small goths has gone pot-holed, creating problems for commuters.
Hundreds of thousands of people use this road daily, besides scores of eye patients that visit a big Al-Ibrahim eye hospital situation along this road. Citizens face immense problems as the link approaches of the Bakra Piri Road to main Shara-e-Faisal beneath a newly constructed flyover are yet to constructed.
The main Bakra Piri Road is clogged with several encroachments at its opening, which creates traffic jams. No traffic cop is posted here to regulate traffic, complained villagers. They said the government has started reconstructing this road and work in under way near Memon Goth presently, but illegal structures including shops and houses along the road are not removed and hence the newly reconstructed road would be narrow and the problem of traffic clogging would stay.
They asked to use standard material in reconstruction of this artery besides removing all sorts of encroachments along it from the main Shara-e-Faisal up to Memon Goth. They also appealed the government to get constructed approach roads beneath the Malir flyover of Shara-e-Faisal at the opening of the Bakra Piri Road to facilitate citizens.
