’Caravan e Ghairat’ to go to Capital: Fowzia


Karachi: Aafia Movement convener Dr Fowzia Siddiqui has said that the Caravan e Ghairat rally is the rally of proud and honourable Pakistanis and this caravan now would go to Islamabad to remind the rulers their election promise about the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.

She said it is not an honourable attitude of the rulers to forget the issue of the daughter of the nation, Aafia, as during their election campaign these rulers had promised to play a role in her early release and repatriation.

They had promised that after coming into power they would get released innocent Aafia and bring her back home. She regretted today Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has forgotten this promise and kept a mum over the issue of Aafia Siddiqui.

Dr Fowzia lauded the successful rally of Caravan e Ghairat in Orangi Town and said these caravan rallies would continue till the release of Aafia. She praised the active participation of public in the rally and urged the rulers to become pride rulers of the proud nation. She said the whole nation awaits the fulfilment of the promise of rulers about the release of Aafia.

Pasban e Pakistan President Altaf Shakoor, addressing the rally, said this caravan is aimed at to safeguard our national honour. He said Pasban is working for uphold of the honour of Pakistanis as individuals and as a nation.

He said Dr Aafia Siddiqui is a brave daughter of this nation, who has been facing all atrocities bravely for last 12 years in the US detention. He said our rulers freed a convicted American citizen, Ameer Ahmed, without completion of his jail term. He said our rulers in past had released people arrested for killing Pakistani citizens and spying inside the territory of Pakistan. However, these rulers have still to summon up the courage to raise the issue of Aafia Siddiqui with the American bosses.

The caravan e Ghairat was warmly welcomed at Orangi number 5, 12, 13, Shah Faisal Chowk, Johar Chowk, Akbar Shaheed Chow and Gulshan e Bihar. People showered flower petals on the participants of the rally and raised slogans for Dr Aafia.

Pasban leaders Tariq Jameel, Tariq Chandiwalla, Abdul Hakim Quaid, sheikh Mohammad Shakeel, Zafar Iqbal, Sardar Zulfiqar, Shaukatullah Khan, Javed Malik, Mohammad Sanna, Mohammad Adnan., Danish, Mohammad Azeem, Ghulam Haider, Akhtar Qureshi, Waseem Ghouri and others were present.
