Chinese solar vehicles envisioned for Pakistani roads
Karachi: Chinese solar vehicles should be imported to our country as they will help in modernizing our transport sector, said Nadeem A Shaikh, president of Pakistan-China Foundation (PCF) here.
Addressing a meeting of PCF at a local hotel, he said we have already floated suggestion to import solar vehicles including solar motorcycles and solar rickshaws from China. He said without introducing cost-effictive and fuel-efficent vehicles the outdated transport sector in Pakistan could not be revamped. He said the Chinese technology could greatly help in this regard.
The meeting also attended by project chairman Asif Haroon discussed threadbare the issues of transport sector in Pakistan and their possible solutions.
Nadeem Shaikh said there foundation want to see the Chinese solar vehicles on Pakistan roads as soon as possible. He said in this regard suggestions have already been given to secretary transport Ahmed Saeed Awan and secretary commerce and industries Abdul Rahim Soomro.
Asif Haroon said the proposed Chinese vehciles would not only save fuel costs but also help in betterment of environment. He said the provincial government of Sindh has already presented suggestion in this regard. He said 80prcent problems of transport sector would go resolved when the Chinese solar vehicles ran on the roads of Pakistan. He hoped that the Sindh government would positively respond in this regard. He said the introduction of Chinese solar vehicles would further strengthen the Pak-China friendship.
PCF general secretary Mohammad Qasim, coordinator Amanullah and others were also present.
