SIALKOT: The district administration of Sialkot has finally approved a Rs. 600 million multi-phased comprehensive plan of reconstruction of all the roads devastated during the recent flash floods in Sialkot district. Administration had sent it to the Punjab government for the allocation of the needed funds.
Sialkot District Coordination Officer (DCO) Nadeem Sarwar disclosed this while presiding over an important meeting held at AC office Daska to review the progress of the ongoing development schemes in Daska region.
Local MNA Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah, MPA Muhammad Asif Bajwa and Assistant Commissioner Daska Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhoon were also present on this occasion.
DCO said that as many as ten main roads were badly damaged in recent flash floods in Daska. These roads would soon be reconstructed. He said that the district administration has sent a plan to the Punjab government seeking early allocation of Rs.600 million for the reconstruction of the said ten main roads and upgradation of Daska city’s clogged sewerage system, saying that Rs.220 million would be spent on the rectification and upgradation of the chowked sewerage system in Daska city.
DCO said that Rs.10 million have been allocated for 187 beds Daska DHQ Level Civil Hospital and Rs. 6 million each have also been allocated for the 40 beds each THQ Civil Hospitals at Sambrial and Pasrur for purchasing medicines there for the outdoor and indoor patients there.
He said that the interviews of the intending doctors have also been completed for their appointment at all the Basic Health Units (BHUs) in Sialkot district.
