CM chairs meeting of the Board of Directors of SIDB

Peshawar: A meeting of the Board of Directors of Small Industrial Development Board (SIDB) held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has approved promotion of 75 employees of the SIDB to the next grade with immediate effect.

This decision was taken in the 98thmeeting of the Board of Director of SIDB held at CM Secretariat Peshawar which beside secretary for industries Dr. Aftab Akbar Durrani, Managing Director SIDB Rasheed Khan Painda Khel also attended by the high-ups of the Finance, P&D, TEVTA and SIDB and presidents of Chamber of Commerce, Women Chamber of Commerce and Small Industries associations from different parts of the province.

Managing Director SIDB, briefed the meeting about the two years performance of the board. He also highlighted future plans chalked out for the promotion of small industries in the province on the occasion.

The meeting sanctioned promotion of two employees of the board from grade-18 to grade-19, two employees from grade-17 to grade-18 and two others from grade-16 to grade-17. Similarly 69 employees of the board including employees from grade 1 to 15 promoted to the next grade.

The meeting of the board of directors approved converting Patti training centre Swat into wood working centre. Moreover, construction of commercial plazas at Small Industrial Estate (SIE) Peshawar and Batkhela was also approved.

The board sanctioned extension and running out of the rest house existing in the SIE Peshawar on commercial basis. The board sanctioned construction of another story at SIDB plaza in Islamabad while establishment of Arts and Crafts Centre to be run jointly by SIDB and Culture department at the same plaza was also approved.

Moreover the meeting Okayed leasing out of commercial plots at SIE Bannu and Karak through open tendering. The meeting also approved purchase of 30 kanal additional land for SIE Karak. The meeting of the board of directors also sanctioned budget of the SIDB.

The Chief Minister directed the Board to establish training centre at each industrial estate. He also ordered computerization of the complete records of SIDB. Similarly the CM asked the concerned authorities to put proposal for provision of additional grant for the pensioners of the SIDB. He stressed the need of improvement of the environment of SIDBs to make it attractive.

The Chief Minister underlined the need of imparting the need based training at industrial training centres to create required skilled to promote industries man power to the local industries to promote industry and provide employment opportunity in the province.
