QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has said that by providing opportunities to young generation for sports and other constructive activities they can be saved from drugs and other social ills. Youth are our assets and guiding them in right direction their capabilities can be used for development of nation and country.

He was chairing a meeting on preparations for national games in Quetta here Wednesday.Sports Minister Mujeebur Rehman Mohammad Hasani and Secretary Sports Mahbub Ahmed Shahwani briefed Chief minister on preparation for holding national games and promotion of sports and increase in facilities.

They said Rupees 800 million have been allocated for organizing national games in Quetta in October 2017 for providing various facilities, repair and renovation of sports fields. These included international standard swimming pools, squash court, tartan track Ayub Stadium.

Chief Minister directed that Ayub stadium should be converted into Modern Sports City and all facilities of indoor and outdoor games should be provided. He said encroachments should b e removed from Ayub stadium and access of young players should be made easy to the ayub stadium and benefitting form sports facilities should be ensured.

He also directed for organizing national games in a befitting manner and guest players should be provided best residential facilities.

He further directed for building stadia in different districts and increase in sports facilities during current year’s development programme timely completion.

He also directed for participation of private sector for holding international level games and appointing consultants consisting of experts.
