The chief minister also took oath from the new cabinet of Nowshera Press Club.
The chief minister called upon the federal government to realize its role in the repatriation of afghan refugees and confining them to camps outside the province. We are in the state of war and the stay of afghan refugees was an additional burden on the health sector and other infrastructure of the province.
He demanded the deployment of frontier constabulary at the boarder of settled and tribal areas adding that afghan refugees are the constant source of worsening law and order situation in the province.
He said that his government is accountable for the safety and security of the people of the province and asked the federal government to show its strong commitment to its role in the process of repatriating or camping of afghan refugees outside the province.
The chief minister said that it is a problem the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government inherited and we all need to be on one page to find a suitable solution to this problem. He said that the federal government should prepare a roadmap for the rapid repatriation of refugees to their homeland.
He said that we admit that law and order situation is our responsibility but the federal government should also have a responsibility to remove all the obstacles hindering better law and order situation in the province.
He said that before the issue, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a tranquil province but with this issue we have been constantly receiving wounds; now we have decided to enforce the writ of the govt as the infrastructure and economy of the province were overburdened by the afghan refugees and illegal immigrants.
The past approach rendered our people jobless, therefore, his government decided to work in the interest of the people. We are at the cross road of our history and we have to make a decision for a secure future of the people.
Therefore, we want to communicate our concern to federal government to help the people of the province and make radical decisions for the good of the people instead of over burdening the people of the province.
He said that we cannot afford terror related events like Army Public School and therefore, as we are under severe pressure of the people and that was why all political forces agreed on one point to repatriate the afghan refugees re-deploy frontier constabulary on boarder of settled and tribal areas and the provincial cabinet also made decisions in its previous meeting to undertake radical spadework and asked the federal government for its role.
Later, the chief minister talking to the members of Nowshera Press Club assured to raise the five crore endowment fund to reasonable level for the welfare of journalists community of the province and asked them to promote the good work and intention of the provincial government for its people. His government has made uniform policy for the development and beautification of the province.
Whatever a policy is put on ground in Peshawar would be extended to other major cities. This will lead to a visible change to the landscape of the entire province adding that his government will openly welcome constructive criticism and this will lead to the overall development and good of the province.
His government discouraged unnecessary intervention in the public welfare institutions and put in place the system of merit and transparency and there will be a strict accountability on any wrong action or misuse of power. He said that his government has done away with the past approach of previous rates of one year and replaced it with the market rate.
There are reasons to it and the new approach will rectify the wrongs, rationalize and remove the hardships and improve the system and ultimately the new system will itself have an in-built mechanism to resolve the problem. His government has no blue-eyed and therefore, done away with favour or disfavour.
He said that corruption in Patwar and Police has been eliminated and if there is anything wrong, strict action would be initiated against them. His government will also give some incentives to the Patwaris etc, he concluded.
