Islamabad: Mr. Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, President of the Republic of Maldives, will undertake a State Visit to Pakistan tomorrow (Wednesday). The visit is taking place at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan as Islamabad attaches great importance to its relations with the Maldives.
President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom will hold talks with Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif. He will also meet the President. President Mamnoon Hussain will hold a state banquet in the honour of visiting dignitary.
During the visit, Pakistan and Maldives will review all important aspects of their bilateral relations. A number of documents on cooperation in Sports, Health, Education and Illicit Drugs and Narcotics Trafficking, will also be signed.
Pakistan and Maldives enjoy close and cordial relations. The relations are based on mutual trust, common faith and understanding. Pakistan and Maldives have been actively cooperating with each other at the regional level and at the multilateral fora.
