KARACHI: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) on Tuesday established “Earthquake Relief Camp” at PMA House Karachi to provide every kind of possible help to earthquake victims.
In this connection, a high level meeting of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) was held at PMA House Karachi which was attended by the office-bearers of PMA Centre and PMA Karachi. The meeting was also participated by the leadership of PMA Punjab and PMA KPK on video link.
According to Secretary General PMA Centre Dr Mirza Ali Azhar, the issue of the devastating earthquake was discussed at length and the participants of the meeting showed their concerns about the loss of precious lives and valuable properties due to this earthquake. It was also agreed upon that the government and the agencies responsible for providing health facilities and relief work did not learn anything from the previous mistakes occurred during the last earthquake in 2005.
He said PMA as per its traditions is ready and well prepared to play its role for providing healthcare services to needy patients and injured victims of this natural calamity. He informed that PMA will provide the medical relief in terms of services of specialist doctors, paramedics, supply of medicines and disposables.
He said PMA believed that at this moment of grief the entire nation should give an impression of unity and provide every kind of possible help to their brothers and sisters. He appealed to the doctors and the community health workers to register their names with the offices of earthquake relief camps. So, they will be called for the services as and when required.
He informed that PMA had established Earthquake Relief Camps at PMA House, Sir Aga Khan III Road, Karachi and PMA House Ferozepur Road Lahore to provide every kind of possible help to earthquake victims.
