‘Emergency Operation Center’ in Sindh to curb polio

KARACHI: Provincial Health Minister Sindh Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Thursday inaugurated the Emergency Operation Center to eradicate polio disease in Sindh with coordination of all stockholders of society.

Deputy Project Manager, Expended Program on Immunization (EPI) Sindh, Dr Durray Naz Jamal said aim of launching emergency operation center to devise comprehensive strategy to curb polio virus from Sindh province.

She said representatives of Pakistan Army, Rangers, Police, World Health Organization, UNICEF, Rotary Club, Health Department and others would work together for this purpose.

She said all stockholders would set together under one umbrella and they would devise strategy to curb polio in order to completely eliminate the disease. She said all stockholders would provide coordination and assistance to Expended Program on Immunization (EPI) Sindh in future campaigns.

She said joint strategy would be devised to handle emergency situation about polio in the province. She said Emergency Operation Center launched with funds of Bill Gates Foundation.

The representatives of Pakistan Brigadier Yousuf, Brigadier Khadim and other officials of law enforcement agencies were also present.
