LAHORE: Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) has adopted a comprehensive and transparent strategy to ensure on-merit recruitments in the institution.
This was stated by the Chairman HR Committee of the Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) Malik Tahir Javaid while addressing a Press conference here at Lahore Press Club on Monday. Deputy Director General Kaleem Bhutta, Deputy Regional Head Muhammad Amin, Deputy Regional Head Khalid Mehmood and Assistant Director Ahmad Kamal Pasha were also present on the occasion.
Malik Tahir Javaid said that as per newly adopted recruitment procedures, all the 358 vacancies from Grade 10 to 20 are being filled through National Testing Services (NTS) to ensure transparency in the whole process keeping in view the Prime Minister’s merit policy.
He said that the National testing Services received as many as 21 thousand and forty-eight applications against 358 posts out of which 510 applications were rejected and 20 thousand, five hundred and thirty eight applicants appeared in the initial test and the result of the initial test is expected in next two to three days. He said that the NTS system is quite transparent therefore only right and eligible candidates would be able to get jobs.
Malik Tahir elaborated that the existing Chairman EOBI Muhammad Ayub Sheikh is also a staunch believer of merit therefore the system had been adopted to improve the working of this important institution.
He said that after the recruitment of existing 358 vacancies, the total number of employees of EOBI would reach 1179 and another three hundred people would be hired through NTS after the approval of the prime Minister in near future.
The Chairman EOBI HR committee said that due to an acute shortage of manpower, the EOBI offices in other cities were facing multiple problems and keeping in view the problems of the old-age employees, the EOBI has appealed to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to grant permission for the recruitment of another three people.
