KARACHI: Noted singer Fakhr-e-Alam is passionate to fly round the world to make a new record for Pakistan.
Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club, Alam said this was the part of his plan to shine the name of Pakistan in aviation field.
Telling about his plan, he named it as a “Mission Parwaaz”. He said that he aims to fly solo in a small airplane starting his journey from Orlando, Florida and circumnavigates the globe completing a 30,000 nautical miles journey on height of 1600,000 feet in several stages.
He said that his journey will start from 20th February 2016 with Turbo engine plane which will take him from Florida crossing 15 other countries including Pakistan. He said it would take 55 days to complete the journey, subject to weather condition and air space availability. He said the most challenging stage of his flying is to cross the Pacific Ocean.
Stating about the world records, he said round the world flights had been conducted by some 200 people in aviation history.
Alam said the entire journey would cost about US$ 1.4 million because of higher insurance and aircraft cost due to his lack of experience in flying airplanes, but so for he could raise US$ 500,000 through sponsorships.
