Peshawar: Haji Haleem Jan, a prominent traders’ leader was gunned down in Peshawar on Tuesday. According to police, unknown gun men targeted the senior trader at his shop in city’s busy Qissa Khwani Bazaar.
Police said Haji Haleem Jan received four bullet and he was rushed to Leady Reading hospital, but could not survive.
Soon after the incidents members of business community rushed to Lady Reading Hospital however their leader had succumbed to injuries before reaching the hospital. The incident prompted shopkeepers to close businesses in the old and famous market of Peshawar.
Investigating motives behind the murder, police say the attack seems to be an incident of target-killing.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) has strongly condemned the attack and demanded of the government to forthwith arrest the killers of KPCCI former President Haji Haleem Jan.
