Karachi: Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC), Federal Ministry of Science and Technology has awarded a ‘certificate of accreditation’ to the Industrial Analytical Center (IAC) of International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi.
The Industrial Analytical Centre offers a range of professional analytical and consultancy services to the industries and other private and public sector organizations. More than 500 industries in Pakistan are taking analytical and consultancy services from the IAC.
Director ICCBS-UoK Prof. Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary expressed these views while speaking at a meeting held at the international center on Tuesday.
The Industrial Analytical Center of the H.E.J Research Institute of Chemistry has become the only analytical entity in the country offering a range of analytical and consultancy services to more than 500 industries and other private and public sector organizations
He said that IAC is a commercial entity which works under the auspicious of H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry – ICCBS.
He said that PNAC Laboratory Accreditation Scheme accredits laboratories that conduct tests in the various fields of testing, including microbiological, chemical, food, construction and construction products, electrical, environmental, textiles, petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals
Calibration laboratories support the activities of other accredited testing laboratories, as well as provide accurate measurement and traceability to the manufacturing sector, engineering sector, construction sector, and equipment makers, he added.
Talking about Halal testing facility at the IAC, he said that IAC offers unique service in Pakistan to analyze the non-Halal ingredients in foods, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical products. Scientists and analysts at the IAC ensure that they are free from chemical, biological or artificial additives which do not, comply with Islamic Law, he maintained. IAC is equipped with world class facilities of research in emerging areas of chemistry and biology, he said.
The Industrial Analytical Centre also provides world class trainings on analytical instruments; the center owns authority to issue certificate of analysis.[related_post themes="text" id="315480"]
