Five alleged TTP men remanded to police custody

Karachi: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday remanded five alleged banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) activists, to police custody till 6 January 2015 in attempt to murder, explosive material and illegal weapon possession cases.

Police produced all the accused, Abdul Jaleel, Gul Zaman, Mohammad Imran, Suleman Khan and Najamuddin before ATC judge under tight security.

Investigation officer requested the court that police needed their physical custody to map out their connections and trace their involvement in other criminal activities. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to police custody till 6 January.

According to prosecution, five accused belonged to TTP were arrested on 30 December near Niazi Chowk, Agra Taj Colony. The police claimed to have seized five kilo grams explosives substance from accused possession.
