Five killed, three injured in Karachi


KARACHI: Five persons were killed and three others injured in separate violence incidents in the city on Monday.

A man, Khan Syed, 50, son of Sarfraz, resident of Landhi, was shot dead by unidentified armed men near Gul Ahmed Mills Landhi. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy.

In another incident, an unknown tortured body, 30, was found from drainage in Orangi town No 6. It was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.

Yet in another incident, a youth, Jehanzeb, 30, son of Khair, resident of Surjani town, was killed in mob violence near Surjani town signal. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy.

Separately, two unidentified men were killed by unknown armed men in Moosa colony. The bodies were shifted to ASH for medico-legal formalities. The motive behind killing could not be ascertained yet.

Yet in another incident, Ali Mohammad, 40 son of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Akhtar Colony, was shot and injured by unidentified accused near Defence traffic signal. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.

Furthermore, a youth, Bilal, 24, son Mohammad Shahid, resident of Korangi town, was stabbed with knife by known persons in Landhi No 3. He was shifted to ASH for treatment.

Moreover, unidentified person, aged about 35, was shot and injured by unknown armed men near MPR colony. He was shifted to ASH for treatment.
