Four killed in road accidents


KARACHI: Four people were killed and five other injured in different road mishaps in the metropolis on Thursday.

According to rescue sources, an unidentified youth, 25, died when a speedy vehicle hit him at Bagh-e-Korangi area near Shah Faisal Bridge. The rescue sources said the body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, one person was killed and another injured when two dumper-trucks collided on Superhighway. The deceased was identified as Aqib, 29, son of Hashim. The injured was Nadir, son of Khalid. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy while injured rushed to JPMC for treatment.

A person identified as Shafi Ahmed, 40, son of Ameer Ahmed, was hit by unknown speedy vehicle in North Karachi. As a result, he suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

Separately, a man, Shaikh Abrar-ul-Haq, son of Abdul Haq, was killed when a speedy vehicle hit him in Shadman Town near Haroon Shopping Centre. The body was sent to ASH for medico-legal formalities. He was resident of UP Morr area of Karachi.

Three man, Bilal, 35, Sultan, 40 and Azhar, 33, were critically injured in road accident when a car hit their bike in Mauripur area. They were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.

Yet in another incident, one Yaqoob, 34, was also injured when a vehicle hit him in Malir. He was brought to JPMC for treatment
