QUETTA: Major Parts of Balochistan including Quetta Valley continued to shiver under below freezing temperatures Thursday. Persisting severe cold weather slashed minimum temperature to minus 4 Celsius today from 3.9 Celsius on Wednesday showing a sharp fall of 9 degrees. Maximum was recorded t 9 Celsius today against 9.5 Celsius Wednesday.
North Western winds from Siberia (known as Kandahari Winds) blew across the valley from 10 to 12 knots during the day while their velocity was 22 knots last night. Dust remained in suspension in air today.
People felt difficulty due to long duration outage of electricity due to self made context by QESCO. Though QESCO staff remains busy in repair all the seven days of the week yet major parts of the Metropolis remain without supply most of the time. When contact QESCO staff has old saying there is fault in the line.
Same is the situation of gas as there are always low pressure complaints by the consumers during these freezing days.
Kalat is also gripped by cold weather. Minimum temperature recorded today was minus 3 Celsius.
Met office has predicted mostly cold and partly cloudy weather in Quetta Valley during coming 24 hours.
