Gujjar claims it was Nawaz who ensured continuation of democracy in Pakistan

KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh Vice President Ali Akbar Gujjar said on Monday that it was Nawaz Sharif who had restored the ways for the return of late Benazir Bhutto to the country in 2007 and had also democratically cooperated with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the politics.

He said that if Nawaz Sharif didn’t show his interest in restoration of democracy, the PPP leadership would still have been awaiting their party workers outside the Heathrow airport. “The PPP’s politics has now become the part of the history, and it can’t make its dead politics alive by leveling false allegations against Nawaz Sharif,” Gujjar claimed.

The PML-N leader stated that Nawaz Sharif had been raising his voice only against the dual status of law. He added, “The people, who are now criticizing our approach towards the decision of court as anti-democratic, had itself defamed the democracy in the past.”

“The PML-N will soon restart its journey towards the betterment of the nation after getting out from all the allegations leveled against it based on enmity and clinching of position,” Gujjar vowed.

He said that PML-N didn’t need any credibility certificate from the so-called new born politicians because Nawaz Sharif himself was a academy and the people, who wanted to learn the lessons of democracy, had to take an admission in it.

Gujjar claimed that the continuation of democracy in Pakistan was ensured by Nawaz only. “PML-N does not narrate the tales of innocence but always fight for the fair trials not only for itself but also for the whole nation,” he said.

The PML-N leader criticized the PPP as saying those people who have once made a remark about the legislative system of the country as Kangaroo courts are now talking about the protection of constitution, which is nothing more than a joke against the institutions of Pakistan. Gujjar said that the political history of PPP was full of slogans against the national institutions.

“The PML-N leadership and the party members are the biggest protector of Pakistan’s constitution and law as we do not believe in the politics of anti-institutions and will always raise our voices for the peace and betterment of the county,” Gujjar concluded.
