Sukkur: Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman, Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Thursday visited Sukkur Institute of Business Administration (IBA) where he met faculty members and students.
The Chairman was accompanied by Dr. G. Raza Bhatti, Member (HRD) HEC and Sulaiman Ahmed, Regional Director, HEC Karachi. Senior management including Director Sukkur IBA, Registrar and Head of Departments received the guests.
Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui, Director Sukkur IBA appreciated the support and guidance by HEC on every front. While briefing about performance of Sukkur IBA, Siddiqui said that students coming to the Institute are mostly marginalized academically and financially. “Sukkur IBA, in order to cater these problems, initiated the concept of Talent Hunt Programme, six-month fully funded foundation semester and Community Colleges to uplift the educational standards of students.”
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed while interacting with students and faculty thanked the management of Sukkur IBA for inviting him. He recognized the efforts of Mr. Siddiqui for turning an idea into such a successful institution. He said that our nation needs more educationists like him and more Institutions like Sukkur IBA.
The Chairman further said that in order to make Pakistan a prosperous country, universities and educational institutes will have to work together to illuminate our nation with knowledge. He said that Pakistan not only want good professionals but also need individual with good moral values, who can play their part in the development and progress of the country.
HEC delegation visited Academic Block, Knowledge Centre and Centre for Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed also inaugurated the newly constructed hostel facility for 200 students worth Rs. 165 Million and prayed for further development of Sukkur IBA and for prosperity of Pakistan.
