IGP for streamlining traffic flow

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh AD Khowaja on Saturday called for efforts to ensure smooth traffic flow in the city, particularly during business and Iftar hours.

While chairing a high level meeting at Central Police Office in the metropolis, the province’s top police official directed the police officials to submit a detailed report on the reasons and solutions for improving the flow of traffic on the main arteries of the city, and those routes which are frequently used by commuters. He also instructed the relevant officials to deploy police and traffic officials on U-Turns, crossings and signals in the city’s congested traffic zones to streamline the traffic flow.

He directed that steps be taken to resolve traffic problems in the surroundings of markets, commercial hubs and shopping centers, particularly in the evening timings.
