Illegal occupants to be removed from hospitals: Jam Dahar

KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Thursday issues directives for vacating hospitals’ premises from illegal occupants, while the standard of residential areas in hospitals will be improved and residences should be provided with doctors and paramedics on priority basis .

This he said while presiding over a meeting here in his office. Secretary Health Dr Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo and PD EPI Sindh Dr Agha Ashfaque also attended the meeting.

He said that these days anti-encroachment drive was in full swing in the province and all medical superintendents of government hospitals should take advantage of the launch and all illegal occupants should be removed. While directing PD EPI Sindh, the health minister told that a campaign against viral diseases would be launched in April, May and November in three phases and during the drive, three million pregnant women from 15 years to 49 would be vaccinated.

The meeting was informed that 12 high risk districts Badin, Tando Allahyar, TM Khan, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Hyderabad and Shikarpur would be given special attention.

Dahar further directed to pay special focus on slum and less privileged areas because usually these viral diseases were occur in these areas. “Awareness and Advocacy seminars should be held in all big cities of the province and cold storage facilities needs to be provided as per international standard,” he concluded.
