Imran Farooq murder case: London police release picture of two suspects


KARACHI: The London Metropolitan Police on Tuesday have released pictures of two suspects involved in murder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Imran Farooq.

London police released pictures of Moshin Ali Syed, 29, a Pakistani national who was in the United Kingdom (UK) between February 2010 and 16th September 2010, and Muhammad Kashif Khan Kamran, 34, a Pakistani national who was in the UK between early September 2010 and 16th September 2010.

The police said that the suspects had fled Pakistan on the day of murder. Police further claimed that both the suspects were currently in Pakistan.

Police said that they were registered to study at a college in East London having entered the UK on student visas.

MQM leader Dr Imran Farooq, aged 50, was on his way home from work when he was attacked in Green Lane on Sept 16, 2010 outside his London home. A post-mortem examination found that he died from multiple stab wounds and blunt trauma to the head.
