Iranian diplomat calls on Liaqat

Lahore: The Iranian Consul General in the Punjab capital, Mohammad Husain Bani Asadi, called on the acting Ameer of the Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, at Mansoora on Thursday and exchanged views with him on issues of bilateral interest.

Speaking on the occasion, the acting chief of the JIP said that Pakistan believed in the unity of the Muslim Ummah. He said that the colonial powers wanted to pit the Muslims against each other but the Muslim rulers and their masses should understand the enemy designs.

He said that the peace in the sub continent could be established only by liberating the Kashmiris from the clutches of India and allowing them to decide their future in line with the UN resolutions.

The Iranian diplomat said at the meeting that the people of Pakistan and Iran were linked together through eternal ties and no power could shake their relationship.

JI deputy chief Hafiz Mohammad Idrees, JI deputy Secretary General Azhar Iqbal Hasan and JI Punjab chief Mian Maqsood Ahmed, were also present at the meeting.
