KMC officials asked to improve recovery


KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui has asked the recovery officers to bring improvement in the recovery condition for making budget for next fiscal year more realistic and rational otherwise they would be removed from their posts.

He said this while addressing a meeting with the recovery officers held in Karachi Metropolitan Corporation office on M A Jinnah Road on Monday.

Farooqui directed offices to monitor the recovery progress on daily basis and work out such ways which could improve the revenue earning for departments of KMC. Those officers who would not show good performance would be removed from their posts and the posting of officers would be on the basis of their performance.

He expressed concern over the recovery condition in KMC which he said still only 29 percent of the total target even after eleven months of the budget and the time for presenting the next budget has reached very close. “We have very short time, however, still as a team work we could make all possible efforts which could raise the recovery of the organization,” he said.

The administrator said budget was very important document for any organization as it was considered the back bone of the whole body. It could not be called successful without achieving the revenue targets.

He said instead of focusing on individual feat, we have to work for collective benefit and for improving the descending recovery graph.

Farooqui instructed the officers to immediately deposit the challans in the concerned bank in case they have such challans.

He said to officers to put up the suggestions for enhancement in the recovery of their department. We all could consider these suggestions and make these good for us.
