LANDIKOTAL: TUJ Khyber formed committee to protest against FC and political Administration. To record a strong protest against the illegal and biased arrest of their colleague, tribal Union of journalists members have announced complete boycott from the coverage of Frontier Corps(FC) and political administration.
The announcement was made by Mehboob Shah Afridi chairman of the Landikotal press club committee, after a grand meeting held here on Sunday. All the journalists from Landikotal,Bara and Jamrud journalists participated in the meeting. The tribal journalist Sudhir Ahmad Afridi was arrested on 27th June and released after 28 hours in custody.
The meeting was presided over by Mehboob Shah Afridi who condemned the FC raid on the home of the senior journalist Sudhir Ahmad Afridi. It was decided that they would not cover FC and Ladikotal administration events and activities until and unless they not prob the illegal and biased arrest case of the tribal journalist.
They asked the Inspector General Frontier Corps(IGFC) and Governor KPK to take serious notice of the incident and provide justice to the affected journalist and ensure journalists safety and security.
An eight members action committee was formed which would chalk out plan for further agitation and protest against the illegal raid on the home of Sudhir Ahmad Afridi and his apprehension, whose home was raided and arrested him without any charges.
It was also agreed upon that all tribal political leadership and civil society would be taken into confidence and on board to launch a steady and consistent protest movement against the security forces and political administration so that they could not harass the working tribal journalists in future.
