Load shedding increases water shortage


KARACHI: Due to electricity load shedding of KE at pumping stations, the citizens of Karachi humiliated to 348 million gallon water shortage on Wednesday.

According to a Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) release, different phases of Dhabeji Pumping House affected by electricity load shedding. At Phase 4 Dhabeji Pumping Station from 5:50am to 12:05pm electricity supply remained suspended and 173 million gallons of water shortage could not be supplied to the Karachiites. Total water shortage of last increased to 348 million gallons.

KWSB said K-Electric has informed them that electricity break down would continue next day also. The board requested the Karachiites to use water conservatively.
