MAJU to start Engineering degree programs


KARACHI: Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi (MAJU) will soon start Pakistan Engineering Council accredited Bachelor of Engineering degree programs. Besides, MBA Professional and MS Project Management degrees program shall also be launched from next semester to meet the job market requirements and to provide best career opportunities to the students.

These decisions were taken at Executive Committee meeting of the University held here. The meeting was chaired by President, MAJU Prof. Dr. Zubair Ahmed Shaikh. During the meeting, it was decided that University shall comply with HEC and regulatory body’s decisions and shall soon emerge as the top ranking university of the region.

Executive Committee also decided that Bachelor’s degree academic program shall continue in morning shift only from next semester and the students who are studying in evening shift presently will be adjusted in morning shift. The Executive Committee also decided that course books to the students shall be provided to them through online facility.

It was also decided to appoint Lab Engineers, lab Instructors and academic officers on the recommendations of Head of Departments. Addressing the executive committee meeting, Dr. Zubair Ahmed Shaikh said that the prime responsibility of a university should be to provide talented graduates for the job market. He said that we may overcome our socio-economic problems by providing a competent young generation who may demonstrate excellence in every department.
