KARACHI: Sindh local government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said on Thursday that they do not have any objection if strict steps are taken against corruption mafia in Sindh.
He said it is a misperception that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government in Sindh is opposing anti-corruption steps. He said that it would be a conspiracy to delay the local government elections in Sindh. He said military should be deployed at sensitive polling stations if required during the local government elections.
Talking to media a Karachi Press Club, he said the verdict regarding the delimitation process was given by the high court. He said due to some lacunae the government of Sindh is going to challenge it in the Supreme Court.
Shah said it was a conspiracy to publish advertisement in newspapers against the rangers. He said his party has no reservations if any institute including National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) work in the ambit of law.
He said the government faces the challenge of water shortage in Karachi and steps are under way on priority to mitigate the issue.
To q query, he said the authorities have taken severe action against illegal water hydrants in the city and about 190 illegal water hydrants yet have already been demolished.
He said work on mega project of K-4 phase one and two is under process while they are also paying attention to improve road conditions in Karachi.
