ISLAMABAD: Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that losses of Railways are being reduced every year and department is functioning smoothly.
Talking to media persons in Lahore on Monday, he said a loan of six billion rupees has been retired and out-dated locomotives are being replaced.
He said sixteen defective locomotives were halted after accident of Jafar express and these are being examined by Pakistani and Chinese engineers.
He said that procurement process has been made more efficient and contract of poor quality locomotives has been cancelled. He said there would be no compromise over standard of locomotives while signing contracts with companies.
