LAHORE: Acting Ameer of the Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch, has said that unity and internal harmony were the greatest need of the Muslim world at present in order to counter the enemy designs.
Speaking at an Iftar arty in Faisal Town area on Tuesday, he said that the anti-Islam forces wanted to keep the Muslim states divided and engaged in wars between themselves to prevent the advance of Islam and keep the arms factories of the west running.
The JI acting chief said there was chaos and confusion in the country mainly due to the corruption and bad governance of the rulers. He said that lawlessness could be wiped out through supremacy of law and administration of justice.
Liaqat Baloch said the corruption mafia wanted to obstruct the accountability process. He however said that a complete unity of the nation was essential to wipe out corruption.
The JI acting chief said that the religious parties and leadership would have to unite to safeguard the country’s ideology, the Islamic values and national security. He said the opposition parties should agree on a common national agenda keeping in view the national interests and to steer the country out of the crisis.
He said that safeguarding the supremacy of the judiciary, wiping out corruption, protecting the process of accountability, electoral reforms for the 2018 elections should be the common agenda of the opposition.[related_post themes="text" id="316229"]
