KARACHI: The language in which we see dreams should be promoted if we really want to make our dreams true.
A Baba-e-Urdu Chair will be established in Federal University of Arts Science and Technology FUUAST in honor of Scholar Maulvi Abdul Haq who is regarded as the Father of Urdu, said FUUAST Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Salman D Mohammad while speaking at Multi Lingual Poetry Recitation (Mushaira) 2015.
The program was organized by FUUAST in collaboration with Pharm Evo, a private company, which was held on university’s premises on Saturday evening.
At the Mushaira Program the poetry in all regional languages were presented including Sindhi, Balochi, Pashtoon, Panjabi and Urdu which was participated by international and national poets including Abdul Hakeem Naz, Sohail Saqib, Zahoor-ul-Islam, Shabir, Aijaz Rehmani, Ms Nuzat Abbasi, Ms Rehana Channar, Ms Ambreen Haseeb, Kashif Hussain, Ms Parveen Hyder, Saleem Foz and attended by large number of students and faculty members.
The VC said such poetry programs should be arranged in the country, which is also part of our culture. The government will be fully cooperated by the university in the promotion of Urdu language in Pakistan which is our national language and official language, he added.
Dr Salman said it is the responsibility of Urdu University to play vital role in the promotion of Urdu Language as it has given name of Urdu. He said our top priority is to promote Urdu. He said if our national language is promoted our nation would be promoted in the world as we have examples of other countries including China and Japan.
