Karachi: There is a dire need to further improve the economic and cultural ties between Italy and Pakistan, said speakers of an event of singing agreement between two premier news agencies of the both countries.
PPI- Pakistan Press International and Agi -Agenzia Giornalistica Italia, has signed in Karachi a Memorandum of Understanding that defines the editorial collaboration between the two agencies, focusing on information and integrated multimedia communication production, as well as in professional training and event organization.
The agreement confirms the desire of PPI and Agi to define joint projects to support the development of economic and cultural ties between Italy and Pakistan, strengthening the value of both agencies, key players in the international communication arena.
Owais Aslam Ali, Chairman of PPI, said: “The signing of the cooperation agreement between PPI and Agi marked a significant step forward in the exchange of information between Pakistan and Italy. This will increase the level of understanding between the people and of opportunities for economic cooperation between the two important countries of South Asia and Europe”.
“Pakistan and Italy have strong political and economic ties – Agi’s CEO Gianni Di Giovanni said – that date back since the birth of Pakistan in 1947 and, as of today, also journalistic ties. I am confident that this collaboration will prove extremely fruitful, and will once again show that Italians and Pakistani can do great things together. Just like in 1954, when an Italian geographer and geologist Ardito Desio, upon mandate of the Pakistani government, was the first to manage to climb the K2″.
