Pakistan, India exchange list of prisoners: FO

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam on Thursday said that Pakistan and India have exchanged list of prisoners as per May 2008 agreement on consular access.

She said Pakistan handed over a list of 526 Indian prisoners to the Indian high commission. She said these include 50 civilians and 476 fishermen. She said the Indian External Affairs Ministry handed over a list of Pakistani prisoners to Pakistan’s High Commission in New Delhi.

According to the list, she said 253 Pakistani civilians and 132 fishermen are in the Indian jails. She, however, said that according to our information, 360 civilians and 150 fishermen are languishing in Indian jails. The two countries also exchanged lists of nuclear installations and facilities, she added.
