Colombo: In spite of trailing by 138 runs in the first inning, visiting Pakistan U-19 cricket drew the three-day match against Sri Lankan counterparts on Tuesday at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota.
On the third and final day, Sri Lanka started with an overnight score of 10-0 to reach 211-3 before declaring their inning after 54 overs of play. Avishka Fernando (63 runs), Shammu Ashan (54 not out) and Salindu Ashan (49) batted well for the side. Shadab Khan, who captured six wickets in the first inning, took one more in the second.
Needing a nearly impossible target of 350 runs, Pakistan batsmen scored 142-3 in 40.4 overs at the end of the day. Opener Zeeshan Malik (55 runs) batted well for the visitors.
Earlier, in the first inning Sri Lankan skipper Charith Asalanka batted impressively scoring 200 runs to help the hosts score 347-9 in the first inning.
