QUETTA: Provincial Capital Quetta and other parts of the Balochistan went without gas supply on third consecutive day. It is added here that normally gas pressure drops with the advent of winter.
According to details a fault developed in the boiler of gas purification at Sui three days ago and supply 110 mmcfd was affected from his plant to Balochistan and Sindh. Major parts in provincial capital and other parts of the province had no gas or low pressure.
Somewhat supply was available it was form Zarghoon field which was contributing 50 mmcfd. It too could not meet requirements of the people under freezing spell. House wife in particular faced great difficulties to prepare food in the absence of gas because long ago they had given up use of firewood and char coal.
SSGC sources had told PPI that 48 hours were required for the repair of the plant. But according to reports even repair of the affected plant had not yet started and it may take a week to restore supply form Sui plant.
