PM: (PM says hardcore terrorists to be hit hard)

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said the national plan of action on counter-terrorism is to identify and destroy hardcore terrorists, and protect the civilians.

He said that the entire nation and political leadership was united in the fight against terrorism. Chairing a follow up meeting on the implementation of National Action Plan on countering terrorism and extremism. He said indiscriminate action would be taken against terrorists and their sympathisers.

He said implementation of the action plan is the top priority of the Government. He said we will defeat terrorism by not being terrorised by it. He said nobody can be neutral in this war against terrorists. He said terrorists are trying to change our behaviour by creating fear but they will never succeed.

He said our plan of action will identify and destroy hard-core terrorist targets and civilians will be protected. He vowed that we will not only fight terrorism but will also prevent it. We’ll take the war to the hideouts of terrorists. He said we will support our armed forces and law enforcement agencies to keep Pakistan and our children safe in the days and years to come.

He said fight against terrorists will be fought holistically through diplomacy, intelligence, law enforcement and military might and every tool will be used for it.

The implementation of National Action Plan is being treated as top priority and the Prime Minister is holding regular meetings to ensure its swift implementation.

Governor Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab and ministers including Ishaq Dar (Finance), Pervaiz Rasheed (Information), Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan (Interior), Khwaja Asif (Defence), Ahsan Iqbal (Planning and Development) and Lt Gen (Retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch (SAFRON) attended the meeting. Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Director General ISI Lt. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar and Director General ISPR Maj. Gen. Asim Bajwa were also present.
