LARKANA: A schoolgirl died when a speeding police mobile van overran her in Nau Shahar locality near here on Thursday.
7-years Jeha Fatima, daughter of Talib Soomro, a student of KG class, was returning home after school hours with her younger brother when she was suddenly overran by the police mobile No: SP-286 of Hatri Ghulam Shah Police Station. She was critically injured while the police vehicle tried to flee. However, passersby raised hue & cry forcing the cops to stop and return back.
They took her to Casualty of the Chandka Medical College Hospital, where she expired.
Her father Talib Soomro told media that his daughter was in school uniform and coming home from a private school along with her younger brother when she was hit from behind by police van.
He said that he wants justice as his daughter was innocent and SHO Mohammad Urs Noonari himself was present in the van.
SSP Larkana Kamran Nawaz told reporters that SHO was not present in the police mobile van but some other cops were there and the driver has been arrested. He said the heirs will be provided justice & FIR will be lodged against the culprits.
Meanwhile, local cops have started using influence over the grieved family to pardon the careless cops.
