ISLAMABAD: Minister of State and PML(N) leader Anusha Rehman has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI) could not present any evidence to support its allegations that ballot papers were got printed from Urdu Bazar Lahore in 2013 general elections.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, she said after its failure to prove allegations of rigging in four constituencies, the PTI is now trying to make issue of constituencies of Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and Captain (R) Mohammad Safdar.
Anusha Rehman pointed out that in NA-53 where PTI candidate Chaudhry Sarwar defeated Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, seventy thousand excess ballot papers were printed. In NA-148, which is constituency of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, twenty-seven thousand extra ballot papers were printed. Similarly, thirteen thousand excess ballot papers were printed in NA-1 from where Imran Khan fought election.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister Mohammad Zubair said that in 2002 and 2008 general elections nine million and 8.5 million extra ballot papers were printed respectively.
