ABBOTTABAD: Abbottabad main Karakorum High Way remain blocked for three hours by the angry PTI district office bearers and supporters to show their resentment on the award of tickets for the local bodies election as they alleged that tickets were not distributed on merit and the old and sincere party workers were denied tickets.
Among the protestors were former deputy speaker of National assembly Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob, president and General Secretary of PTI Abbottabad Sardar Sher Bahadar, Jan Mohammad Qureshi, Sabir Awan and many more.
Angry protestors burnt the tyres and they were shouting slogans against PTI provincial president Azam Khan, provincial ministers Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, Qalandar Khan Lodhi and also against chief minister KPK.
In their speeches, they alleged that worst examples of nepotisms being seen and loyal party workers were not given tickets and said that this will damage the party and will lose the seats and also will lose the confidence of the general public who are demanding the “Change” but most of the tickets which were given to the peoples who were members of other parties.
A long “ Q” of vehicles were seen on the both sides of the road and due to closer of the only road which links country’s five districts, Mansehra, Battagram, Kohistan, Torghar, and Abbottabad ,Northern areas Gilgit, Azad Kashmir remain cut off from entire country and the most sufferer were the school going kids as dozens of students were fainted in the vehicles due to suffocation,
At least seven Ambulances were stuck up with serious patients including one most serious patient , the mother of Mohammad Ali, resident of Sultan Pur Havelian who was being shifted to Al-Shifa for emergency treatment from Ayub Medical Complex.
Mohammad Ali was begging for the early opening of road from protestors and he also submitted written application to SHO Cantt, DSP and Assistant Commissioner but his voice remain un-heard.
At least dozens of other passengers were also requesting police officials for the clearance of road as they had to pick the flights and latterly were crying with fear of missing of their flights. Lastly after negotiation of AC Mir Raza Ozgan and DSP cant Khankhail traffic was restored at 5.30 P.M.
