KARACHI: Health Department Sindh has posted a woman pharmacist as drug inspector Hyderabad, and senior drug inspectors are not happy on this development, terming it favoritism on political basis.
Sources of Sindh Health Department on condition of anonymity said postings on recommendations of influential politicians have again started despite court restrictions.
In a recent development a lady working on the post of Deputy Director Pharmacy Services Sindh was appointed Drug Inspector in Hyderabad.
Sources said this officer was removed earlier from the post of divisional drug inspector Hyderabad in the light of apex court orders. She was sent back to her original post of deputy director pharmacy service Sindh. They said senior drug inspectors are considering approaching court against appointment of a pharmacist on the post of Drug Inspector Hyderabad.
Drug Inspector Hyderabad, Saher Afshen, when contacted, said some drug inspector were creating confusion on her appointment. She said a person having a degree of pharmacy can become drug analyst and drug inspector.
Provincial Health Secretary Sindh Alamuddin Bullo was not available for comment.
