ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has emphasized that the government is committed to provide quality healthcare to the people and regards it as an important determinant in promoting the physical and mental health and well-being of the people.
The President said this while talking to Chairman Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) Medical Corps, Dr. Asif Riaz Qadeer, who called on him here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, on Thursday.
The President lauded the philanthropist activities of APPNA during earthquake and floods in Pakistan and during the recent heat wave crisis in Karachi and appreciated the services of APPNA members for teaching young doctors, medical students and scientists engaged in cutting edge research and novel innovations.
He suggested that APPNA may undertake to train nursing staff from leading hospitals in Pakistan in post surgery care to further improve the healthcare standards in the country. He assured his full support and best wishes to APPNA in undertaking healthcare projects in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, talking to Pakistan ambassador-designate to Morocco, Mr. Nadir Chaudhry, who separately called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr, on Thursday, the President emphasized the great importance Pakistan attaches to its relations with Morocco noting that both countries enjoy longstanding fraternal relations.
Highlighting the government vision to diversify and strengthen relations with countries of the African continent, the President urged that efforts should also be made for enhancing Pakistan’s relations with the other North African countries.
He called for expanding volume of trade with Morocco in various areas of mutual benefit in order to realize the true trade potential between the two countries.
